Scholarships & awards for grad students

There are a number of scholarships and bursaries available for incoming and current graduate students. Deadlines vary by award. Please note that deadlines for major entrance scholarships can be as early as Dec. 1.

Applicants to the School of Music’s graduate programs are automatically eligible to receive funding through the Four-Year Fellowship program for doctoral students and the Graduate Student Initiative (GSI), which provides funding at both the master’s and doctoral level.

Continuing graduate students in the School of Music are eligible to apply for awards from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and the Affiliated Fellowships program, among other awards programs administered by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Please note that if you currently hold a Four-Year Fellowship (4YF), you may be required to apply for fellowship funding in the fall competition. Canadian 4YF holders must apply for SSHRC funding unless they are entering the fourth year of their program. International 4YF holders must apply for Affiliated Fellowships.

Please see the links below for more information on various categories of funding for graduate students.
